Since 1979, each Spring the city of Charleston transforms into an art mecca to celebrate the arts through Piccolo Spoleto Festival in conjunction with Spoleto Festival USA. For 47 years, one of its most cherished traditions has been Piccolo Spoleto Outdoor Art Exhibition (PSOAE), a vibrant open-air gallery showcasing 2-D artwork. This free, public event draws thousands of attendees and fosters creativity, community pride, and cultural connection. Beyond the 17-day exhibition, PSOAE’s mission supports emerging artists through mentorship and educational opportunities which help shape the future of Charleston’s creative community.
